Why? Because the process of job seeking will differ. Below we will explain how exactly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>A) Foreigners with Free Access to the Labour Market <\/b><\/h3>\n<h2><b><br \/>\n<\/b>What does the free access to the labour market mean?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foreigners with free access to the labour market don\u2019t need a work permit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Who has free access to the labour market?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, the following groups of foreigners have free access to the labour market:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Full-time university students<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students of language schools with authorisation to give\u00a0state language exams\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University graduates, and graduates of schools with authorisation to give\u00a0state language exams\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foreigners with permanent residence in the Czech territory and some of their family members\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foreigners holding temporary residence of a family member of an EU\/EEA\u00a0 or Swiss citizen\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People granted international protection (asylum, subsidiary protection)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to search for a job with free access to labour market?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have free access to labour market, you can look for a job the same way as Czech citizens do.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We especially recommend using the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jobs.cz\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.jobs.cz<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prace.cz\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.prace.cz<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> portals, where you will find a wide range of available job positions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also use the central database of job positions managed by the labour department: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uradprace.cz\/web\/cz\/volna-mista-v-cr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.uradprace.cz\/web\/cz\/volna-mista-v-cr<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><b>B) <\/b><b>Foreigners without Free Access to the Labour Market<\/b><\/h2>\n<h2>What does it mean if I don\u2019t have free access to the labour market?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foreigners without free access to the labour market need a work permit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Who doesn\u2019t have free access to the labour market?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students with a long-term visa for the purpose \u201cother\u201d, attending an unaccredited program or language courses.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dual employee card or blue card holders.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holders of a long-term residence permit for the purpose \u201cbusiness\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holders of a long-term residence permit for the purpose \u201cfamily\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other foreigner groups.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How can I look for a job as a foreigner without free access to the labour market?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you don\u2019t have free access to the labour market, you have to choose job positions only from the central database of job positions managed by the labour department: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uradprace.cz\/web\/cz\/volna-mista-v-cr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.uradprace.cz\/web\/cz\/volna-mista-v-cr<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>NB:<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">need to<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">filter job positions according to availability to foreigners. Select \u201cConsent of the employment of foreigners\u201d in the left pane and check the corresponding option. If you\u2019re not an employee card , blue card or asylum holder, check the first option \u201cFor the foreigners\u201c.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you find an employer who is not in the database, the employer should notify the Labour department, which will then enter the job position into the database. As a person without free access to the labour market, you can apply\u00a0 for the position only if it hasn\u2019t been occupied by a person with free access to the labour market within the established period.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>How to get a Work Permit?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After you\u2019ve been accepted for the job position of your choice, you will need to apply for a work permit. Work permits are issued by the Labour department\u2019s local office: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uradprace.cz\/krajske-pobocky\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.uradprace.cz\/krajske-pobocky<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are a <\/span><strong>dual employee card or blue card<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">holder, work permit is already a part of your residence permit. It means that you don\u2019t need to arrange a work permit separately at the local office of the labour department. Employee card and blue card holders have their residence permit tied to a specific job position, to which the Ministry of Interior has granted them permission. In case such foreigners want to change their job positions, it is indispensable to submit a formal notification about these changes, and, in an absolute majority of cases, to wait for a positive decision from the Ministry of Interior.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>CV and Motivational Letter \u2013 How to?<\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re interested in one of the advertised job positions, it is expected that you\u2019ll send your CV and your motivational letter to the potential employer. And based on these, they will decide if they want to meet you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Above all, you should list your work experience, educational background and knowledge of foreign languages in your <\/span><strong>CV.<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Of course, it should also include your name and contact info.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In case you have a university degree and are looking for a job in your field, or having a degree is required for the job position, it\u2019s a good idea to have your diploma recognised. We will talk about diploma recognition in our next article.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apart from the CV, you also need to compose a <\/span><strong>motivational letter<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for each job position, explaining why you\u2019re interested in it, and why you\u2019re the best candidate for it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We recommend writing your CV and motivational letter in Czech.
