Read our article to find out which districts do foreigners most commonly live in and an overview of the activities that the selected districts implement to support integration.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Which districts do foreigners most commonly live in?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">15 out of 57 city districts (M\u010c in Czech) have already exceeded a threshold of 20% of foreigners living in them &#8211; as of the overview published on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mvcr.cz\/clanek\/informativni-pocty-obyvatel-v-obcich.aspx\">website of the Ministry of Interior<\/a> on the <strong>1st of January 2022<\/strong>. They are the following: <strong>Prague 1, 2, 3, 5, 9,18, 22 and the districts of Kunratice, Libu\u0161, \u0158eporyje, Zli\u010d\u00edn, Nebu\u0161ice, B\u0159ezin\u011bves, Doln\u00ed M\u011bcholupy, and \u0160t\u011brboholy<\/strong>. Other districts, such as Prague 7, 13, and 14, are nearing the 20% threshold.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These numbers, however, only take into account foreigners with a valid visa or residence permit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Good experience aka Integration activities of city districts worth noting<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some City district authorities have been involved in the integration of foreigners for many years. They have a well-developed framework of integration activities for both foreign and majority citizens. These activities include multicultural events, educating city officials and pedagogical staff on the topic of integration, or teaching Czech and sociocultural orientation of children and adult foreigners. The city districts usually receive funding for these activities through so-called projects to support the integration of foreigners at a regional scale, financed by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic and also the Prague City Hall.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Below you can find some examples:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Prague 3 District<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has published a detailed <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.praha3.cz\/getFile\/id:1131627\/rn3_07_cervenec_08_web.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">article &#8220;Cizinci na Trojce: Hled\u00e1me cestu ke spole\u010dn\u00e9mu sou\u017eit\u00ed (Foreigners in Prague 3: Seeking a way to co-exist)&#8221;<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in its town hall newspaper, issue 7+8\/21, pages 6-8. The contents of the article introduce the topic of integration to Prague 3 residents and the &#8220;Spole\u010dn\u00e9 sou\u017eit\u00ed (Co-existence)&#8221; program, which focuses on integration activities and is financed from the Ministry of Interior projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Prague 4 District<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is carrying out a &#8220;<\/span><strong>Pedagogical task group on the integration of foreigners<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; aimed at pedagogical staff of Prague 4 schools working with children with a different mother tongue. The task group presents activities that the district offers to pedagogical staff under the &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.praha4.cz\/Zijeme-na-ctyrce-spolecne-2021\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u017dijeme na \u010dty\u0159ce spole\u010dn\u011b (Living together in Prague 4)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;, thus creating a place to share and receive a good experience. Notes from the task group can be found <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.praha4.cz\/Realizace\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HERE<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Prague 7 District&#8217;s<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> town hall magazine Hobulet publishes a regular column &#8220;<\/span><strong>What&#8217;s up<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; with a concise summary of the most important district information. The column is in English, and newly also in Ukrainian. A collection of past entries can be found <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.praha7.cz\/hobulet\/archiv-hobuletu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HERE.\u2002<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Prague 11 District<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is working on a project <\/span><strong>of civic and political engagement<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in cooperation with Inb\u00e1ze. They&#8217;re trying to get the district&#8217;s foreign residents, local associations and organizations to participate. More information can be found <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.praha11.cz\/cs\/mestska-cast\/socialni-sluzby-a-zdravotnictvi\/socialni-sluzby\/integrace-cizincu\/obcanska-participace-a-zapojovani-verejnosti-s-inbazi.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HERE<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Prague 12 District<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is implementing &#8220;<\/span><strong>P\u0159\u00edb\u011bhy na\u0161ich soused\u016f (Our neighbors&#8217; stories)&#8221; project<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in cooperation with Post Bellum organization. Children from Prague 12 record memories of Czech and foreign contemporary witnesses, which will be kept for future generations in the Pam\u011b\u0165 n\u00e1roda archive. You can see the results yielded <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pribehynasichsousedu.cz\/praha-12\/praha-12-2021-2022\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HERE<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Prague 15 District<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has compiled a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.praha15.cz\/vlastni-publikace\/ms-1526\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Toul\u00e1n\u00ed Prahou 15 (Wandering Prague 15)&#8221; storybook<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that, using fairytales and poems, guides children and their parents through various places in the district. The district then translated it into <\/span><strong>Ukrainian and Vietnamese<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It&#8217;s designed to be used in foreigners&#8217; families, as well as in kindergartens and elementary schools.<\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Prague 11, 13, and 14 Districts<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have their own <\/span><strong>street\/community workers<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for foreigners (e.g. for <\/span><strong>Vietnamese or Russian+Ukrainian communities<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). They actively seek out the district&#8217;s foreign residents, inform them about available services and offer their professional assistance, including accompaniment services to government offices, doctors, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Prague 3, 7, 11, 12, 13, and other districts<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have basic information about the district authority and activities that the district offers foreigners <\/span><strong>on their websites<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This information is translated to <\/span><strong>multiple languages<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, e.g. English, Russian, Ukrainian or Vietnamese.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>ICP&#8217;s part in the integration of foreigners at a local scale<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since its creation, ICP has been supporting and closely cooperating with city districts through networking, sharing good experience, providing methodological materials, or educating government officials.
