Registration at the Labor Office<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two ways to register at the Labor Office \u30fc either as a &#8220;job applicant&#8221; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or as a so-called \u201cperson interested in a job\u201c. We will explain the difference between these terms below.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><i>A. Job applicant<\/i><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This type of registration is open to <\/span><b>f<\/b><strong>oreigners with permanent residence, asylum, supplementary or temporary protection, as well as EU citizens and their family members.<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you are registered as a &#8220;job applicant&#8221;,<\/span> <strong>the Czech Republic pays for your health insurance<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In addition, if you can prove that you have been employed for at least one year during the last two years, you will also receive unemployment benefits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the Czech Republic pays for the health insurance of EU citizens only if they are also receiving unemployment benefits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To register as a job applicant you will need:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your residence permit<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fill out a Jobseeker Registration Application (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mpsv.cz\/documents\/20142\/2544918\/Zadost-o-zprostredkovani-zamestnani.pdf\/71058aea-5443-47e3-4073-c0732ab24308\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Czech version<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mpsv.cz\/documents\/20142\/2544918\/%D0%97%D0%B0%D1%8F%D0%B2%D0%B0+%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%BE+%D0%BF%D0%BE%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%B4%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%86%D1%82%D0%B2%D0%BE+%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%B8+%D0%BF%D0%BE%D1%88%D1%83%D0%BA%D1%83+%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B1%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%B8.pdf\/12f1e266-e65a-839a-58ad-af3aa6f00d30\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ukrainian version<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fill out an Unemployment benefit Application (if you are eligible)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have been employed in the last two years, you will also need to submit the following documents <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from all of your employers in the last two years:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employment contract<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Confirmation of employment (employment record, so called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cz\u00e1po\u010dtov\u00fd list\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personal records for pension insurance (so called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201ceviden\u010dn\u00ed list d\u016fchodov\u00e9ho poji\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A termination letter (notice, mutual agreement)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mpsv.cz\/documents\/20142\/138360\/ID+103+Potvrzen%C3%AD+zamestnavatele+pro+posouzen%C3%AD+n%C3%A1roku+na+podporu+v+nezamestnanosti.pdf\/6023fdd7-5fb3-7fe4-ee30-43c85b7a4578\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Confirmation of the average net income<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (filled out by the employer)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the registration, the Labor office\u2019s employee will process your application, instruct you about a job applicant\u2019s rights and obligations, and schedule your first meeting with your contact person.<\/span><b><i><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<h2><strong><i>B. A person interested in a job<\/i><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Regardless of your type of residence<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you can register as a so-called \u201cperson interested in a job\u201c at the Labor Office. With this registration, <\/span><strong>you are not entitled to public health insurance paid by the Czech Republic or unemployment benefits<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Still, you are entitled to the advisory services of the Labor Office and, in particular, to retraining courses (see below for details). Regular meetings at the Labor Office will help you to do this. At first, you will have a chance to look for jobs on your own, but you will always be asked what is new and how your job search is going at the regular meetings. Show the Labor Office\u2019s employee your initiative and bring them your CV, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/icpraha.com\/uznani-zahranicniho-vzdelani\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nostrification of your diploma<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or a list of companies you have contacted or interviewed with since the last meeting. <\/span><strong>These meetings are very important, so keep in mind that you will be removed from the register if you don&#8217;t show up for your appointment without an excuse.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our tip: You can search for a job not only on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mpsv.cz\/hledani-volnych-mist-2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MSPV<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> website, but also on the job portals such as <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prace.cz\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.prace.cz<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jobs.cz\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.jobs.cz<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.expats.cz\/jobs\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">expats.cz\/jobs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.workania.eu\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.workania.eu<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Communication is the basis of everything<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the first meeting with your contact person at the Labor Office, agree with them on the rules and method of communication \u30fc whether you prefer to communicate via email, by phone or in person. If you don&#8217;t speak enough Czech yet, choose communication via email and always use <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/translate.google.cz\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google Translate<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deepl.com\/translator\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deepl.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Do not forget to start your email with a greeting and always sign your name at the end.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can ask our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/icpraha.com\/kontakty\/#doprovody-a-tlumoceni\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">intercultural workers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for help with interpretation during the meeting. Or you can come to the meeting without an interpreter. Even though the Labor Office\u2019s employee can be annoyed with you, they can never remove you from the register due to the fact that you came to the meeting without an interpreter. If you decide to go there on your own, try to prepare for the meeting by writing down using a translator how the job search is going and how you plan to proceed. These printed job postings are binding, and <\/span><strong>you must contact the company mentioned there within 3 working days (in person or by email).<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If you do not do so (and you do not have a serious reason for this), you will be removed from the register for a period of up to 6 months and thus, the Czech Republic will stop paying for your health insurance (i.e. you will have to pay for it yourself). If a company rejects you, bring back a printed job posting with their signature to the Labor Office as soon as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Apologize for your absence on time<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can miss your regular meeting only if you have a serious reason (illness, injury, a sudden trip abroad, etc.). If you know that you cannot attend the meeting, inform your contact person in advance and arrange another meeting. In case of illness, it is necessary to notify the Labor Office <\/span><strong>within 3 calendar days<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and then provide within 8 calendar days a <\/span><strong>doctor&#8217;s note<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stating that you are unable to work.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Extra earnings<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the goal of your registration at the Labor office is to find a stable job, you cannot earn extra money while working as a self-employed person or having an agreement to complete a job (DPP). However, you can have an agreement to perform work (DP\u010c) or part-time employment. Keep in mind that your maximum earnings in 2023 cannot exceed half of the minimum wage, i.e., CZK 8,650 gross. If you exceed this amount, you will be removed from the register.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div><\/div><!--close column table wrapper.
